View or edit information about standby servers
The Standby Server configuration screen appears after you select Set Primary from the Setup Primary Data Center screen. The Standby Server screen displays information for each standby server that corresponds to a server in the primary data center.
Procedure

In the left pane, select a server in the primary data center.

In the right pane, view or edit the information that applies to the standby server in the secondary data center that corresponds to the primary data center server that is selected in the left pane.
For example, if the server selected in the left pane is the primary data center Application Server, in the right pane, view or edit the information for the corresponding standby Application Server in the secondary data center.
The right pane displays the following information for a standby server:
Field
Description
Name
Enter a name for the standby server.
This is the display name of the server's icon in the Installations tree.
The name is at your discretion. The name must be different than the display name that appears for the corresponding server in the primary data center.
Description
(Optional) Enter a description for the server.
Server Name
Enter either the Host Name, FQDN, or IP address of the standby server that corresponds to the server in the primary data center that is selected in the left pane.
The name entered in this field cannot include an underscore character (_).
The name entered in this field automatically appears in the HTTP Alias field.
Important: If Enterprise Manager communicates with this server using TLS, this field must specify the exact same server name that is specified in the common name field of the server's TLS server certificate. For more information, see the Security Configuration Guide.
Port Number
Enter the port number (default 80) on which the standby server listens for HTTP connections. If the HTTP communication between Enterprise Manager and the managed server Server that is managed by the Enterprise Manager application. is unencrypted, Enterprise Manager uses this port to connect to the standby server.
HTTPS Port Number
Enter the port number (default 443) on which the standby server listens for HTTPS connections. If TLS is used to encrypt communication between Enterprise Manager and the standby server, Enterprise Manager uses this port to connect to the standby server.
HTTP Alias
The HTTP Alias field defaults to the same server name that is entered in the Server Name field.
Important:
You can accept the default value for this field for all servers except servers that are part of an Application Server cluster.
If the server you are adding is part of an Application Server cluster, enter the HTTP address of the load balancing device for the cluster in this field.
Configure Secondary Databases
Click this button in the bottom of the left pane to display the Secondary Database Connection Settings screen. This screen shows the database servers in the primary data center and allows you to specify their corresponding database servers in the secondary data center. On this screen, you must enter the connection information (host name and port) for the database servers in the secondary data center.
